Lourdes, who most knew as Lou, was born on November 30, 1934 in Guagua, Pampanga, Philippines.
While growing up in the Philippines, she met Alfredo “Bucky” Guinto while in college. They fell in love, married and went on to have 4 sons, Albert, Joseph, Alfred, and Alan.
Lou and Bucky brought their family to the United States in 1963. Bucky was in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in San Diego, California. Here, they raised their young family until Bucky was transferred to Norfolk, Virginia, then eventually to Virginia Beach. When he retired from the Navy they decided to move back to San Diego where they called home.
Lou worked various jobs while raising her 4 sons, as a cafeteria worker, a 7-Eleven Manager, then finally an electronic assembler at NCR.
Lou was the rock of her family and a friend that everyone turned to. She played an active role in the lives of her family, church and community. Her idea of a good time would be to cook for her family and enjoy their company. All that mattered was that everyone was together. Lou always made time for everyone, near or far. Her family, friends and community were everything. She loved with all her heart, without judgement and was the most beautiful person inside and out.
She and her husband, Bucky traveled the world and lived their lives to the fullest while always putting each other and their family first. We are at peace knowing they are together in heaven.
Lou is survived by her sons Albert, Joseph, Alfred, Alan, granddaughter Jennifer, grandson Aiden, great grandsons Hudson and Weston, grandson-in-law Jon and daughter-in-law Xinwei
