

Mario Z. Delos Reyes died peacefully on May 13th, 2025, in the VA Sepulvida Hospice in Los Angeles California at the age of 82. Mario is survived by his son Mario “Mark” Delos Reyes. Brothers Ernesto (Aurora) Delos Reyes, Teofilo (Rhoda) Delos Reyes, Aurelio (Nene) Delos Reyes, Elias (Becky) Delos Reyes, Marcelo (Hope) Delos Reyes, and Eduardo (Helen) Delos Reyes. Sisters Emeteria (Edward) Quinto and Asuncion Calimlim. Brother-in-law Teddy Andres and Sister-in-Law Lorenza Delos Reyes. And numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marcelo Velasquez Delos Reyes and Maxima Zarate Delos Reyes, Sister Prescilla Andres, brother Felipe Delos Reyes, Daughter-in-Law Betina Delos Reyes, and his niece Alyson Delos Reyes.
Mario joined the US Navy as a young man on Dec. 6, 1963. During his time in the Navy, he was able to assist his family in the long process of immigrating to the United States. While in the Navy he served in the Vietnam war. His service record includes Navy Supply School, Athens GA, USS CHARLES F. ADAMS, USS DALE, and the Personnel Supply Detachment, Cecil Field, Jacksonville, FL. After retiring from the US Navy, he worked as a maintenance supervisor for Florida Christian Apartments and was also a cook for a Filipino restaurant in Jacksonville, FL.
Mario is known best for being a very charitable individual. He couldn’t say no to a friend in need.

A memorial service is scheduled for May 29,2025 at El Camino Memorial at 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd. San Diego, CA 92121. Services will start 1030 am with a ceremony at the Miramar National Cemetery on 5795 Nobel Dr. San Diego, 92122 at 1230pm. A reception will follow the services. Father John Crepeau will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mario's life.
