

Marquay (Jamar) Robinson was born on July 10th,1989 in San Diego, California at Mercy Hospital and passed away on January 14th, 2026 at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center. He was 36 years old. His surviving family is saddened by his unexpected death.
Marquay left behind his Mother Florinda (Lee) Robinson, Grandfather Ernest Williamson, his older siblings Eric (Ramon) Jimerson, Mykala (Sherice) Williams and James Williams, Ernestine (Charity) Robinson, Ernest (Milton) Robinson, Uncle Reverend Michael Ellis Williamson, his Nieces Erika Jimerson, Michelle Williams, Riah, Leah, Meah, and Niyah Charles. He is preceded in death by his Grandmother Flora (Bell) Williamson and Uncle Curtis Williamson who welcomed him into eternal glory.
Marquay grew up in South Bay San Diego and attended Juarez-Lincoln Elementary school, Montgomery Middle School, Montgomery High School, and San Diego City College.
Throughout his life, obesity was an on-going battle that contributed to a wide range of health issues.
After surviving a collapsed lung at the age of 11, Marquay became intellectually disabled and struggled with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia later in life.
His family would describe him as smart, quirky, introverted, and pleasant to be around. They loved his dry sense of humor and admired his diligence to achieve goals despite challenges. He managed to lose over 100 pounds by eating a bland diet and working out excessively. He also landed a full-time job at Petco Park then Goodwill Industries.
Marquay very much enjoyed entertaining himself by reading books, playing video games, watching movies and TV, listening to all types of music, exercising, journaling, and collecting Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokémon cards. He also loved the Lord and got baptized at The Rock church in San Diego.
He is loved and deeply missed by all who knew him. His family has peace and comfort knowing he is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ resting in eternal paradise as written in Revelations 21:4 "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away".
A visitation will be held on January 27, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at Cypress View Mausoleum, Mortuary and Crematory, located at 3953 Imperial Ave, San Diego, CA 92113.
The committal service will also take place on January 27, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the same address.
