Mary V. Lackovic

Mary V. Lackovic/Maria Victoria Navarro of San Diego, California passed away on June 3rd, 2025 at the age of 87. She was born on December 23rd of 1937 in El Tablillo Jalisco where she grew up with her beloved siblings: Selsa Navarro, Eleno Navarro, Julia Navarro, Esther Navarro and Enrique Navarro. She immigrated to the United States at an early age where she became a U.S. citizen, learned how to drive, and mastered the English language. Among her proudest accomplishments was fulfilling her dream of visiting the Vatican, a journey she took with close friends from Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

Mary worked making custom seat covers from Superlamb and was a devoted and active member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church for many years. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. No matter the challenge, she faced life with resilience and grace.

She was the heart of her family. Deeply loved by all of her grandchildren, Mary’s home was the center of joy and celebration, especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas. Her warmth, traditions, and presence made those gatherings unforgettable.

She was preceded in death by Cirila Carrillo, Guadalupe Navarro, Selsa Navarro, Eleno Navarro, Julia Navarro and Joseph Lackovic.

She is survived by her sister, Esther Navarro, her brother, Enrique Navarro; and her children: Joel Patino, Maria Esther Patino, Saul Patino, Roberto Navarro, Ruth Navarro, Olga Navarro. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

The family would like to thank Elizabeth Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our mother in her final days.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Mary, which will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at El Camino Memorial–Sorento Valley, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd, San Diego, Ca 92121. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8200 Gold Coast Dr, San Diego, CA 92126. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 12:00PM to 12:30PM, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd, San Diego, CA 92121.
