It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, MERCEDITAS KAHSE VELARDE on February 22, 2024 at the age of 86.
Ditas, as she was fondly known, was born on March 3, 1937 in Manila, Philippines. She is predeceased by her parents Diosdado Sevilla Velarde and Carmen Kahse Velarde and her younger brother Hermy. She is survived by her brother Frankie, sisters Alma, Naidy, and Aida, and nephews and nieces.
Her Christian faith was an essential part of Ditas life. She loved being a part of her Christian community in National City, California. Throughout her life she was known for her hard work, dedication and passion for helping others.
Ditas will be sadly missed and will always be in our hearts. Her family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time and asks that you share memories and photos of our beloved Ditas on this memorial website.
Services will be held at 10 am on March 16, 2024 at El Camino Memorial Park, followed by her funeral.
