Gharring, Michael P. “Mike” El Cajon– Mike Gharring, 48, passed away suddenly on August 2nd. Born and raised in San Diego, Mike enjoyed everything our hometown has to offer, from the desert to the river to the coast and anything and everything in between. Whether at the wheel of a boat, a sand car, a jeep, or more recently, one of his classic cars, Mike thoroughly enjoyed having fun. Mike was also very devoted to his family; being with them both at work and during his personal time. Work was extremely important to Mike. His Grandfather and Grandmother started the family business (Southland Envelope) in 1970, and Mike has been there every step of the way. Mike often said that his work ethic was a tribute to his Grandfather, Frank Soloman Sr., who passed away when he was very young. Mike is survived by his Grandmother, an aunt, an uncle and a brother. Mike is also survived by 3 nephews, 1 niece, 6 first cousins and 11 second cousins. Mike loved his family very much. As the first-born grandchild, Mike had the opportunity to influence his younger sibling and younger cousins, watching them grow up into the adults they are today. Mike took great joy in seeing new children born into the family and was always there to present gifts at birthdays and holidays. Mike should be remembered for his kind heart and his complete devotion to his family. He will truly be missed.
Blessed are those who died in the Lord; let them rest from their labors for their good deeds go with them.
Eternal rest grant Michael, O Lord.
May he rest in peace. Amen.
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
