Thank you, Michael James Myers, my dear brother-in-law, for taking care of our sister, Josie and the rest of our family all these years. He was a very quiet guy but a very dependable one. We could always count on him when we needed help in any situation. Mike, you would be missed and loved by all of us! Rest In Peace dear Mike, until we meet again! We will always include you in our prayers!

I’m extending my deepest and heartfelt sympathy to you Josie, Imee , Trisha and to all of Mike’s family . Wishing you everything you need to get through this difficult time .

Michael "Mike" Myers is the quintessential brother-in-law most people could ask for.

Soft-spoken and unassuming, he never took center stage but was always there in the background.  In fact, he was literally larger than life--a real big guy with an even bigger heart.
It showed in the way he cared so much for his family, more specially with the young kids, his grandchildren.

We feel deeply sad about Mike's passing and will miss him terribly during our annual family gatherings.  However, we're sure we'll always feel his presence and his love will remain in our hearts forever.

Rest in peace, dear Mike and many thanks for your love and support to our family.  Thank you too for your service to this country.

What a rare find is a true and trusted brother-in-law!
His worth is far beyond that of diamonds or gold.
His family and friends put their confidence in him
                      and enjoy his camaraderie.
He always helps in whatever way he can, and sets his hands
                      to them with a cheerful heart.
He oversees the activities of his extended family and supplies
                      provisions for his household.
His beloved wife puts her confidence in him and his step daughters

Uncle Mike, you're one of the best Uncles I have.  You call me giggles when I was a kid and you always carry me when I was tired walking. It's been fun and thank you for all the things you did to make our vacations as fun as possible.  We'll miss you but you will be in our hearts.  Now that you are with our Lord, please continue to watch over us.  

Michael is a wonderful person.  Very fond of my children when we visit them on vacations.  I never heard him complain nor acted differently when he's with the family.  He just get along so well and fine with everyone.  He doesn't mind us when we all talk in Tagalog and loud.  He's fun to be with and appreciate our company.  A well behave and good mannered person.  He respects my father and mother in law.  Shows concern when they are sick  and or in the hospital.  We'll miss Michael so much.  He's family to us and uncle to  our children.  

To our beloved Brother in Law Michael,  We will surely miss you when we get to visit family in San Diego.  When our kids were growing up and spend time visiting, you always welcome us and plays with the kids like your very own.  Thank you for the many good times we spent together in picnics, barbeque times, parties and family gatherings.  Thank you also for those military discount tickets (Disneyland, Universal Studios, knotts Brerry Farm, San Diego Zoo, Sea World) our kids enjoyed those theme parks.  You also send them gifts when they achieve good grades in school.  This motivated them to study harder as they say Uncle Mike will send us a gift.  Most important of all is to thank you for your military service   for our freedom and for this great nation.  We will be forever grateful to your sacrifices and your love to our family.  We salute.  

When I was somewhere between 10 and 12 years old Michael and I were allowed to go downtown by ourselves to go to the eyes doctors. It was spring time. I was so excited. We got to take off of school so we could go. Plus, they were having the annual “Flower Mart” in Mt. Vernon Place. Mom said we could go after the appointment; it was just two blocks away from the doctor’s office. Tensions had been mounting in Baltimore and around the nation back then. Michael was in charge of me. He told me not to wander off and to stay close by his side. He said, “If anything happens to grab hold of him and don’t let go and that he would get us out of there. We weren’t expecting anything to happen being young as we were. We arrived at the festival! There was music in the air and flowers in their hair. There was a hippie chick dancing in the fountain. We hadn’t been there long and a riot broke out. Michael grabbed hold of me and we ran and hopped on the closest bus and got out of town. Very scary but thanks to Michael we got home safe.

I got to go with Michael and his friends to a lot of concerts. It was a comfort going with the older crowd because I knew they were looking out for me. Sometimes they would have three bands at one concert and it would be general admission. That meant we could sit or stand anywhere. When it was like that we would always seemed to make our way down on the floor to just about the front row. Even if we didn’t get that close I always had an advantage because Michael was tall and I could get on his shoulders. It was big fun.

One day we were leaving  and Nico waved to his grandpa.  Nico yelled out the window,  I love you too much grandpa! His grandpa had the biggest smile & thought that was the cutest. Since that day til now… he would always say to Nico I love you too much.  It was a phrase that touched him so much. Every time we think of dad/grandpa…we will always remember…I love you too much!  Thank you for everything but most of all thank you for loving your grandson as you did. You listened without judging, talked about music, cars and baseball. You were patient, kind and caring. You didn’t want or ask for much. Thank you for your unconditional love! We miss you too much! ❤️

Michael was very kind and polite. He was very respectful and a good listener. He always said “Yes ma’am” and “Yes sir”. He did his chores without being asked. He preferred to iron his own cloths because he wanted them just so. And he was very industrious. He had a large newspaper route when he was young. We would all help out if there was bad weather. He was very generous and donated much of his earns to the church. 

I will never forget the time Michael hit me with the pillow. It was early in the morning. We were all getting ready for school. I ran down to the basement where I found Mom to tell on him. She thought I was being overly dramatic. After all how bad could it be to get hit with a pillow? Soon after, Michael came down. He admitted that he hit me with the pillow. But I keep insisting that it was really bad. So Mom told him to hit her just like he hit me. So he did. Mom went flying across the basement. She scolded him and told him he had better never do that again. She realized that I was not being overly dramatic and Mom never took it lightly to be hit with a pillow again.

One time I went sleigh riding with Michael and his friends. They also had a bonfire. It was really cold out. We were all huddled around the fire when Michael declared that he was finally feeling pretty warm. Then all of the sudden we realized that his pant leg was smoking. He was standing a little too close to the fire!

There were a lot of good memories but too short of time spent together. I look forward to see Michael again when he is healthy and spend forever with him. For as God promises at Romans 6:23 The gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord. And Jesus reassures us at Luke 23:43 “Truly I (Jesus) tell you today, you will be with me in Paradise.”

To the best brother ever!! We had so much fun growing up and hanging out together.  Between the rec center, the bridge & the tunnel we would have all our friends out and have a good time!! Loved watching football with Mike or talking with him every Sunday before the game. He really loved the game.  All the memories and good times will always be in my heart ❤️ 💜❤️ Love you forever, Gin

I will always be grateful and thankful for my dad!!! Thank you for all the wonderful memories and support through the years. Your grandchildren love you very much and you will always be in our hearts and future stories. He will never be forgotten. It’s not good bye it’s see you later dad!!!
