Nance Sutton White

October 6, 1926 to July 20, 2013. Nance was born and raised in Newton Centre, Massachusetts. She, along with her husband Gil, and their three daughters moved to San Diego in 1958. While her daughters were young, Nance actively participated in their school activities, Girl Scouts, the Grossmont Hospital Auxiliary Volunteer program, and Gil’s many professional associations. In the 70’s she took the big step of starting a career in an area of personal interest, children. She went back to school and became a pre-school teacher. She devoted over 20 years to teaching, first at Charlie Brown Pre-School in La Mesa, and then San Carlos Methodist Pre-School.

Nance and Gil were members a wonderful group called Tri-F’s. The group, originated at the La Mesa Methodist Church, and provided Nance and Gil with a life-long close knit circle of very special friends who have been there to support each other for over 40 years.

Nance and Gil were happily married for almost 60 years until his death in 2008. Nance is survived by her three daughters Robin Agostino, Deborah White-Barela, Heidi Clark, 7 grand children and 8 great grand children.

A Memorial Service will be held for her at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 9th at Mount Miguel Covenant Village, 325 Kempton Ave, Spring Valley, CA 91977. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association
