On October 23, 2023, Paulina Goon Goon Tom was reunited with her husband, who had passed away a year earlier. Paulina had tirelessly worked hard each day during the past two years, caring for her husband, fighting a battle of grief after he passed, and staying persistent and hopeful when her own health began declining. In the months leading up to her last days, she was surrounded by loved ones who will honor her legacy by not just living their lives to the fullest but also by being there for one another during these difficult times. She shall rest peacefully in heaven knowing that they are staying connected and carrying on together.
Paulina was an accomplished woman who will leave a lasting impact on those who knew her. She grew up in China and embraced her culture throughout her life. After attending college, she worked as an accountant, and a few years later, she got married and moved to the United States where she started her family of six children. Paulina was strict by nature and believed in tough love, teaching her children to always maintain proper etiquette and to continue working hard no matter what. While raising so many children, Paulina also worked a variety of jobs in the food industry. Every day, she would utilize her culinary talents, whipping up delicious meals for her large family and every day she would find joy in all her responsibilities. Her pleasant nature and generosity brought smiles to all whom she met, and her lovely character will never be forgotten.
Paulina is survived by her six children, ten grandchildren, great-grandchild, and six siblings, who will always remember her as the strong, caring, and hard-working woman they’d grown to love.
A visitation for Paulina will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at El Camino Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92121. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 1:15 PM to 2:00 PM, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92121.
