Pedro Salan Duran

Pedro “Pete” Duran, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2024, at the age of 80. Born in Cabusao, Camarines Sur Philippines, was the eldest of two children. He graduated in Cavite National High School and served honorably in the United States Navy for 26 years, where he was known for his dedication and service.

Pete married his high school sweetheart, Luz in 1965 and together they raised three wonderful daughters. He was a devoted family man, known for his stern yet loving parenting, always striving to provide the best for his daughters. His family was his pride and joy, and he instilled in them the values of hard work and integrity.

Pete had a passion for fishing, gardening and enjoyed fun times at the casino with friends. His hobbies brought him joy and relaxation, and he cherished the moments spent with loved ones.

Pete is survived by his children, Lara, Joanne, Kat and his grandsons, AJ, Jeremie, Loren, Jaydon and great granddaughter, Josie. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and dedication.

A burial service for Luz and Pete will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Miramar National Cemetery. The address is 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, CA 92122. Family and friends are invited to attend and pay their respects.
