

Surrounded by love, Phyllis went home to be with the Lord on April 8, 2026.
Phyllis graduated from Garnet High School with honors, in 1952 and pursued further studies in education at Ohio State University, in Columbus, Ohio.
While in Columbus, she met and later married Jack Herbert Ware on December 24, 1954.
Six children were born, Jack H. Ware, Jr., Paul V. Ware, Kathy L. Ware, Brenda K. Ware, Kevin M. Ware, and Joseph D. Ware. She also loved Herbert L. Ware and Patricia A. Ware-Hobson, as her own.
Together with their family, Jack and Phyllis adventured to numerous locations, including Chicago, Illinois, Gary, Indiana, developed an 80-acre farm in Walkerville, Michigan relocated to Muskegon, Michigan and settled back in Columbus, Ohio.
Phyllis worked for the Gary Public School System and later, managing two businesses. As a young widow, she was a great mother and raised all six children into adulthood. Phyllis was an amazing wife and caretaker of her husband Jack in dealing with the effects of cancer.
A brilliant lady who knew how to deal with people, controversy and children all at the same time. She was a fantastic counselor and teacher even in her later years. Her influence on the lives of many people will be missed.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband Jack H. Ware, Sr., mother Laura B. Fields, father Sherman Brew, stepfather Robert V. Fields and children Kathy L. Ware, and Joseph D. Ware, Sr.
She is survived by her children Jack H. Ware Jr. (Ivy), Paul V. Ware, Sr., Brenda K. Ware, Kevin M. Ware, Sr. (Gail), Herbert L. Ware (Gale), and Patricia A. Hobson, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Her adoring love and grace will be greatly missed. What a wonderful life! Arrangements are pending with an update to follow by Miramar Memorial Services. Interment at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, CA.
