Raymond Tate Tillman

TILLMAN, RAYMOND TATE; Ray was born March 4, 1948 in Los Angeles and passed away peacefully at his home on January 12, 2013 in San Diego, California. Ray's life was filled with physical challenges, but he faced every adversity with courage and determination. His life was a testament to the strength of the human spirit. He retired from Goodwill Industries after 25 years of service. Ray loved living life! He liked to joke and make people laugh. He enjoyed going on outings with his family, such as, the mall, swap meet, and the county fair. He had a keen eye for the ladies and always tried to make them smile. While in the comfort of his own home, he was fond of listening to music, watching TV and playing video games. He was dearly loved by all who knew him. Ray is survived by his mother (Doreta), father and step-mother (HB & Bea), two brothers (Michael [Dawn] and HB Jr.), two sisters (Gayle [Bob] and Mary [Tim]), and numerous nieces and nephews. We will miss him, but are comforted by our faith that Ray is dancing with the angels, soaring with the eagles, and free from all pain and limitations. A private family gathering is scheduled for February 8, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life for Ray on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the home of HB and Bea Tillman. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of your choice.
