Resurreccion Concepcion Nepomuceno

Resurreccion “Rosie” Concepcion Nepomuceno, age 87, of Ramona, California, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, after a long battle with dementia. While the disease slowly erased memories, it could never touch the deep love she had for her family. Rosie’s passing comes less than two years after the loss of her devoted husband of 57 years, Ruben Nepomuceno, who preceded her in death on November 14, 2023.

Rosie was born in Nasugbu, Batangas, Philippines, to the late Bernabe Concepcion and Angelina Romasanta. The fourth of nine children, she cherished her family and is survived by her siblings Jose Concepcion, Reynaldo Concepcion, Teresa Cruz, Rener Concepcion, her aunt Marcelina Malig, as well as many nieces and nephews who adored her.

Rosie graduated from Nasugbu Institute, then went on to study at Far Eastern University before completing her nursing degree at Chinese General Hospital in the Philippines. In 1963, she came to the United States through a Registered Nurse Exchange Program. Her career as a nurse was marked by compassion and dedication to her patients, serving in numerous hospitals before ending her nearly 30-year career in 1994.

On March 5, 1966, Rosie married the love of her life, Ruben, in Charlottesville, Virginia. Together, they travelled the US, living in different places before eventually settling in San Diego, California in 1976, and began to build a beautiful life together, raising two children, Ron Nepomuceno (married to Elizabeth Alarcon) and Connie Pascual (married to Peter Pascual). Rosie took immense pride in her family and especially delighted in her role as a grandmother to Angelina Lopez (married to Leopoldo Lopez, Jr.), Ashley Pascual, Nathaniel Pascual, and Orion Lewis, and as a great-grandmother to Isaiah Mauro Lopez, Josiah Ruben Lopez, and Cecilia Grace Lopez. She was very excited to become a fourth-time great-grandmother to Nathaniel's expected baby with his girlfriend, Morgan.

Beyond her devotion to her family, Rosie loved traveling with her husband, tending to her garden—especially her cherished roses—and, of course, spending time (money!) at local casinos. She made sure no one who visited her ever went hungry, and her warmth and generosity touched everyone who knew her, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and joy.

Rosie will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends.
