My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Mothers are very special and they live with us until we join them. May god be with all of the Valladolid family.

Please accept my sincerest condolences.  A mothers love is the most treasured love in a sons life.  My thoughts and prayers are with you today and during this time of bereavement.  I regret I cannot attend the service but please know that I  stand with you during these difficult times and hope you can seek comfort in the knowledge that your love and memories of you mother are neverending and as time passes your love, affection and appreciation will continue to grow for all that she did for you and your family.  Mothers are the most precious possesion that the Lord gives us and having your mother with you has been a blessing to be sure.

I lived across the street for only a year, my junior year of high school, and attended OLP with Ana. I had learned Spanish as a little girl from a babysitter and mostly forgot it.  Mrs. Valladolid encouraged me to take up Spanish and I would come over at times to study with Ana. She also had me down to Ensenada with her family a couple of times. She taught me to take pride in one's heritage,  a love of Mexico although I was not born Mexican but was a Californian and it is a part of that culture. Ot was through those experiences I became curious about the Native American part of my own heritage which I had always, previously been taught to not speak about. Many years later, over thirty after graduation in fact, those lessons ultimately led to a BA degree in archeology and time spent at sites in Mexico and Belize doing archeological illustration. Her love lives on in her children,family and others who learned love, quiet strength, and dignity from her beautiful life.

May God bless the Valladolid family during this time of loss. Mrs.valladolid was a gracious and respected lady who I will always remember when I started at San Ysidro Health Center. She showed us how to love and care for our community!
