
Robert A. Cordero, 89, of San Diego, California, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2012. Born in Tijuana, BC, Robert proudly served in the U.S. Army in France and Germany during World War II. Robert became a U.S. citizen upon his discharge in 1946. On New Year's Eve 1950, he married his sweetheart, Emelina, began our family, and lived the American Dream. Married 59 years, she preceded him in death in 2009. He is survived by his daughter, Adele Doyle and son, Bob Cordero; grandchildren Rebecca Harroun and Victoria Trapp and David and James Cordero; great-grandchildren David and Emmalina Cordero, Alexander and Christopher Trapp and Sebastian Harroun, and numerous nephews and nieces.
A special appreciation to niece Rita Stewart and her family for their unending care giving and support. Robert was also preceded in death by brothers Phillip and Luis, and a sister, Maria.
A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2012, at Greenwood Memorial Park & Mortuary 4300 Imperial Avenue San Diego, California.
