
Ruperto Punsalan, a beloved and kind-hearted individual, passed away on January 19, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on May 2, 1955, in Iloilo City, Philippines, Ruperto was known for his hard-working nature and humorous spirit. He was a brave and patient man, always selfless and gentle in his interactions with others.
Ruperto was the cherished brother of Thelma, Myrna, Fedelie, Manuel, and his late brother, Jimmy. He pursued his education in Accounting at Southwest University in the Philippines. In 1986, he moved to the United States, where he began his 35 year career with the United States Postal Service. He was known in his circle of family and friends for his kind-spirit, and generosity.
Ruperto was a devoted family man, survived by his two sons, Rupert Punsalan and Benison Zerrudo, and his daughter, April Punsalan. He was also the proud grandfather of two grandchildren, Jerberson and Kailo.
In his personal time, Ruperto enjoyed playing basketball, playing guitar, singing, and dancing. His presence brought joy and laughter to those around him, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Ruperto resided in San Diego, California, where he was a cherished member of the community. His legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
