September 8, 1935 to June 24, 2011
Russ was born in Peoria , Ill and moved to San Diego in 1977. He passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. Russ is survived by Mary, his loving wife of 54 years, his three children Lisa (George) Quintanar, Daniel (Karin) Epperly and Karen (David) Sundsten, three grandchildren, Nicole, Joshua, and Tristan, and one great-grandson Nathaniel. Russ enjoyed a 47-year career with Caterpillar Tractor Company. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
A funeral Mass will be held on July 22, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the San Diego Mission de Alcalá, with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Didacus Parish School, of San Diego , CA for a trophy cabinet to be built in memoriam of Russell Epperly.
