Sheralynn M Machado

(1955-2013)

Sheralynn "Sherrie" Marie Machado, 58 of San Diego, CA passed away peacefully in her sleep from a heart illness on November 22, 2013. She was the first of five children born to Manuel and Lenora Souza. She was born in Tacoma, WA on February 17, 1955 and graduated from the University of San Diego High School. She met the love of her life Louis Manuel Machado at the age of 13. They were married on October 8, 1977. She was a devoted and beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a second mother to many and consistently opened her heart and home to those she loved who needed a helping hand or listening ear. She was an exceptional homemaker and avid craftswoman who loved all things sparkly and beautiful. She grew up in Point Loma in a Portuguese tuna fishing family. She was very proud of her Portuguese heritage and community. She lived her entire life in Point Loma and Ocean Beach and spent many wonderful times there with family and friends especially at Shelter Island and Tower 2. Sherrie was preceded in death by her brother Manuel "Buddy" Souza and Gale LaRocco. Sherrie is survived by her husband Louis Machado; parents Manuel and Lenora Souza; siblings Danny (Kim) Souza and Teresa (Jim) Quayle; children Kyle (Nikki) Machado, Kevin (Rachelle) Machado and Manuel "Buddy" Machado; grandchildren Kyle "KJ" Machado, Jr. and James Machado; and many cherished nieces and nephews. Her family will deeply miss her caring heart, charisma, laughter, hugs and exuberance for life. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, December 2, 2013, 3:00 p.m. at Mission Valley Christian Fellowship, 6536 Estrella Avenue, San Diego, CA 92120.
