He was born in Pune, India in 1953 to Dalip Singh and Gurmail Kaur. His family also included three brothers and one sister. Tarsem was educated at Punjab Agricultural University, where he earned his BSc and MSc in Agriculture. His ultimate goal was to immigrate to the United States and live the American Dream.
His wish came true when he arrived in America in the 1980s. Although he came with very little, he was able to create a comfortable life for himself and his family.
Tarsem was a devoted and loving father to Sukhreet, Parneet, and Navjaras, who dearly miss him and the life lessons he imparted to them. He was determined to provide his children with a better life than he received.
He took great pride in being a parent, especially encouraging his children to focus on their education and become well-settled in their careers.
Tarsem is survived by his wife, Parminder, and his three children.
