

Theresa Nguyen Okano, age 85, passed away peacefully on the morning of Nov. 4, surrounded by love and faith. A devoted Catholic and beloved mother, she lived her life with quiet strength, deep compassion, and unwavering grace.
Born on Nov. 30, 1939, in Saigon, Vietnam, she was known for her generosity and devotion to family and the Catholic community. Many saw her as a petite woman with a giant heart.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through every joy and challenge. She was a longtime parishioner at Our Lady of Grace, where she found community, purpose, and peace.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Ron of almost 30 years, two daughters, Tami and Hanh, and son, Phi, and her 8 grandchildren, who will carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and faith.
Her funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace on Monday, November 24, followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, where she will rest in eternal peace. A rosary or vigil will be held on Sunday November 23 at Beardsley-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1818 Sunset Cliffs Boulevard San Diego and all who knew her are welcome to attend.
