Thomas W. Baxter 01/27/1945 ~ 02/08/2015 Tom was born in Providence, R.I., and grew up in North Carolina as the youngest of three siblings. After earning a bachelor's degree from Duke University in 1966 and an M.B.A. from UCLA, he became an audit partner at Price Waterhouse during his 38-year career. He gave his time to many charitable groups over the years, and despite recent health challenges, Tom served on the audit committee of the San Diego Zoo and as a board member of Space Micro Inc. He died Sunday at home surrounded by family. Tom was a lifelong golfer, a voracious reader and a man who always acted in the best interests of his family. He was a devout Catholic and a man of great integrity. Tom is survived by his wife of 43 years, Alixanne, and their three sons: T.W. Baxter Jr. of Sammamish, Wash., Patrick Baxter of San Diego, and Stephen Baxter of Santa Cruz. A service will be held in La Jolla on Feb. 21. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the San Diego Zoo.
