Victoriano "Bitoy" De Borja Cruzate

March 23, 1941 - September 20, 2025

Victoriano “Bitoy” de Borja Cruzate, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, in San Diego, California, at the age of 84.

Born on March 23, 1941, in Indang, Cavite, Philippines to parents, Braulio Cruzate and Brigida de Borja. Bitoy lived a life defined by service, integrity and quiet strength. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical engineering from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines in 1961 and also had a MBA from the University Ateneo de Manila. Shortly after, he began a distinguished 30-year career in the Philippine Army, retiring with the rank of Colonel from the Army Corps Of Engineers.

In his younger years, Bitoy was active and athletic; he enjoyed basketball, volleyball, tennis, golf and cockfighting. In his later years, he found relaxation and enjoyment in

spending time at the casino with his wife. Though a man of few words, his love for his family was deep and unwavering, always expressed through his steady presence

and lifelong devotion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Braulio Cruzate, Brigida de Borja, siblings, Cresenciana Cruzate Garcia and Severino Cruzate.

Bitoy was married to his beloved wife, Remedios Pulido Cruzate, for 57 years. Together, they built a loving family. He is survived by their children, Jocelyn Cruzate Marcaida and Jesus Cruzate, their grandchildren, Justine Camille

Cruzate Cruz, Jazeelyn Cruzate, Mark Jason Marcaida and Jessica Claire Marcaida and their great-grandchild, Adiel Caleb Cruzate Cruz.

A funeral service will be held on October 11, 2025 from 3:00-7:00 pm at El Camino Memorial Park and Mortuary, located at 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, California, 92121.

Victoriano “Bitoy” Cruzate will be remembered as a devoted husband, a proud father and grandfather, and a man who showed his love not through words, but through a lifetime of steadfast care and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
