Bill was born on March 24, 1942 in Ellsworth, Pennsylvania. He went to Ellsworth High School and continued on to Penn State University where he attained his degree in Electrical Engineering. In 1965 he moved to San Diego after accepting a job with General Dynamics.
Soon after moving to San Diego, Bill married his High School sweetheart, Margaret Zwirek, and resided in Mission Hills.
In 1980 Bill decided to pursue his entrepreneurial side and opened up a dry cleaning business known as One Hour Martinizing on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. The business thrived for over 20 years before his retirement.
When Bill retired he was able to enjoy his passions in life which were football, playing the stock market, and dining at several local eateries. He was a devoted Charger’s fan since 1984. Bill enjoyed going to games on Sunday with his son, Scott, and tailgating with friends prior to kickoff.
People that knew Bill would describe him as the ultimate competitor who would never give in! This was never more evident then the battle he had endured the last 15 months with numerous strokes, cardiac and pulmonary arrests. After one of several episodes in the Intensive Care Unit in which he suffered a cardiac arrest only to come back around once again, all that one of Doctor’s could say after walking out of his room was “Man, what a warrior!”
Bill is survived by his son William Scott Danshaw, his sister Jackie Tucker, and brother’s Jeff and Craig Danshaw. His wife, Marge, had passed away too soon in January of 2000.
No service has yet been planned for William Danshaw as his wishes were to be buried at sea
