Florence Rose Sullivan (nee Mirollo), 90, passed away on Wednesday September 21, 2016. She was born to the late Antoinette Mele Mirollo and Harry Enrico Mirollo on January 17, 1926 in New York City, New York.
Florence grew up in a large, loving Italian family. At the age of 27 she decided to spread her wings and move west to San Francisco with the Royal Globe Insurance Company she worked for in New York. It is at this company where she met and married on December 20, 1961, her loving husband, who had also moved west from New Jersey, the late Jeremiah L. Sullivan.
Florence's newly adopted home of San Francisco soon became a city of delight. She loved walking everywhere, exploring her beloved neighborhood in the Marina. She was very proud of the gorgeous view from her living room window in the Bay Street Apartment she called home for over 50 years! She learned the bus system and could navigate you to any part of the city, just ask her.
Her passion was her family and friends. Florence is survived by her brother James V. Mirollo, her cousin, Marie "Dolly" McCoo, her nieces, Gabriella Mirollo, Barbara Sullivan, Joanne (Sullivan) Eckhardt and nephews, Renato "Rennie" Mirollo (Robin) and Rev. Vincent Sullivan, S.J.
Florence also had so many loving and caring friends that she leaves behind. They are too numerous to name, but know that each and every one of you were cherished and loved.
Florence's friends and family would also like to thank the caregivers at Farol's Manor Board and Care Home in San Francisco for their kind and loving care for the last 1 ½ years.
Florence requested cremation and a Catholic Mass at St. Vincent DePaul Church at 2320 Green St. SF, Ca 94123. This will be on October 26 at 1:30 pm.
Father Vincent Sullivan will be the celebrant.
