

Frank Wiley, 71 yrs old, passed away peacefully at home on August 22, 2023 due to cancer. During his final weeks, he was surrounded by many of the friends and family who loved him. Frank was born to Beermon Burris Wiley and Frank Wiley Sr on December 27, 1951 in California. Frank is survived by his wife, Nancy and their two children Anna and Louis and grandchildren Elizabeth and Shay Wiley He is also survived by his siblings, Jerry, Terry, and Dexter Wiley and Onita Doughterty, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is proceeded in death by his sisters Marie Lyons, Yvonne Dirks, Ronald Dougherty, Donald Dougherty, David Wiley and Nancy Wiley.
Frank received a Masters degree in Serigraphy (printmaking), from the California College of the Arts. He was an extremely intelligent and creative man. Due to his dyslexia, he found that computers were a great tool to help him write and express himself. He worked many jobs utilizing his self taught computer skills, including during the early years of Apple. He especially loved the jobs where he taught programming skills to children and adults.
Frank was hilarious, witty, intelligent, loving and caring toward the people around him. He loved to laugh and enjoyed making others laugh with his dry and sarcastic wit. He was passionate about his family and was a wonderful father to Louis and Anna. His favorite memories included taking the family to Camp Mather and Spring Lake. During the 4th of July Frank would gather the kids on the block to have a BBQ and light fireworks.
Frank was an avid reader with varied interests. He had a broad knowledge of US history, especially WWII and the Supreme Court. He loved building models of WWII vehicles, watching documentaries, and enjoyed various movies genres such as Japanese Samurai, Film Noir and Jane Austin.
Frank was loved by many due to his unique personality and unusual humor and he will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A gathering is being planned for Nov. 5th, to eat and share Frank stories, of which there are many! It will take place on November 5th, 2023 from 12pm - 3pm at 215 Fair Oaks Street, San Francisco, CA 94110, in the courtyard behind our home. Check back for exact details and time.
