Quietly passed away on December 8, 2016 at home.
Galina is preceded in death by her parents Vera and Afanasy Wlassowsky, brothers Vyatcheslav and Wladimir (Davinia). She is survived by her nieces, Vera (Randall) and Alexandra and her nephew, Wladimir (Sonia) and grand nephews Antonio, Alejandro, Alexander and Nikita; and grandniece Ekaterina.
Galina was born in Skopje, in the former Yugoslavia and immigrated to Chile in 1949. There she married Anatole Shambo who had also moved to Chile after the war. In 1957, she and Anatole moved to San Francisco where they were active in the Russian community. She sang at many Russian balls and performances as well the church choir. She contributed to many charities and was an avid bird lover. To the end, she lived her life independently.
Panihida service will be Thursday evening at 7:30pm at Holy Virgin Cathedral, 6210 Geary Boulevard, San Francisco.
Funeral service will be Friday morning at 10am at the Cathedral followed by burial at Serbian cemetery.
