Irene is survived by her loving Son Anthony V. Tirado, caring Daughter-in-law Brenda Tirado, devoted Sister Diane Ghiglieri and Brother-in-law Lou Ghiglieri, her Nephews Michael and Paul Ghiglieri and many cousins. She is also survived by her loving Stepchildren Mike Tirado and Janet Filsinger.
Irene was the loving and devoted daughter of her wonderful parents Peter and Amelia Bernardi. She was born in San Francisco and a long-time resident of San Jose, CA. She worked at Met Life in San Francisco for 25 years where she met her husband Victor Tirado. They fell in love and were married in 1969 and had their only son Anthony V. Tirado. She moved to Connecticut with Vic and Anthony but returned back to San Jose, immediately after the sudden death of Vic in 1984 which was a very difficult and heartbreaking time for her. But Anthony gave her the strength to go on and with the kindness and closeness from her wonderful Aunt Rita of which they had a close bond and with the help of cousin Russell, she found a new car and a new house in San Jose where she wanted to raise Anthony. Life was not easy but she carried on and settled in as best she could.
She truly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially Sunday lunch at the Fish Market with her son sipping on Bloody Marys and sharing fun stories. She loved her new tiny Chihuahua named Timmy who was so devoted to her and who constantly stayed by her side to the very end. She had a true love for animals especially her poodle Maggie and Terrier/Chihuahua Sonny and she took joy in being surrounded by her birds, fish and her cats. She loved her home and her beautiful garden.
She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
It is consoling to us that she will now be at rest alongside her dear husband Vic, who she adored, as well as being reunited with her deceased loved ones.
It will be a joyous reunion for sure!
MAY GOD BLESS HER AND KEEP HER IN THE SAFETY AND BEAUTY OF HIS KINGDOM.
Services will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the All Saints Mausoleum, Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma, California
