Louise was born on January 28, 1918, in Kansas City, Missouri to Grover and Lillie (Conner) Jackson and spent her early childhood in Fort Smith, Arkansas. After graduating from high school, she returned to Kansas City where she flowered into a vibrant and active young woman. She worked for a time as an official Greeter and Hostess for the Mayor of Kansas City at City Hall where her wit and social skills and cheerful attitude were put to good service.
In the mid 1940s, Louise moved to San Francisco to be near her mother Mrs. Lillie B. Jackson, and soon married Mr. Leon Hobbs, a merchant seaman, from Freeport Texas. They had no children, but he was the love of her life and even though they divorced they remained lifelong best friends and companions until his death.
Louise was radiant and charismatic. She was unfailingly cheerful, with a twinkle in her eye and a smile for everyone. She loved to giggle and was just fun to be around, even to the end. She touched everyone who came in contact with her, offering sage advice and counsel when appropriate and support and empathy when called for. The light that was Louise will be truly missed, but its glow that lingers with us will be a cheering comfort in our own journey through this life.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Lillie B. Jackson, her father, Grover Jackson, her brother and only sibling of the same name, Grover Jackson, and his wife Mrs. Holland Hill Jackson, her own husband, Mr. Leon Hobbs, a beloved aunt, Mrs. Rosa Shelton King, and all of her numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. She is survived by only her brother's two sons, Harold W. Jackson and Grover G. Jackson and a host of adoring people who had the good fortune to get to know her.
Louise received excellent, kind and gentle attention during her debilitating illness over the past several years. Special thanks are in order to Rena Harel R.N. for her kind and gentle care and her conscientious and attentive monitoring of Louise's condition. Sincere appreciation and gratitude are offered to the special people at Reliable Caregivers, especially to Remy, Evangelina, Lynne, and Nora , who gave her round the clock care and companionship. Much appreciated also are Nada and Eimer and the thoughtful and professional people at Pathway Hospice who provided much comfort.
