Michelle Annette Evans-McCray

Michelle Annette Evans-McCray, a 15 year resident of the Metropolitan Atlanta area, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Heritage Hospice in Marietta, Georgia.

Born on March 30, 1963 to Ellis "Duke" Evans and Mary Evans, Michelle grew up in the Haight Ashbury and Western Addition neighborhoods of San Francisco, California. She attended the gifted program at George Washington High School, and was a proud class of 1979 graduate. She continued her educational studies at San Francisco State University.

Michelle's career achievements span from being a project manager at United Healthcare to being the highest grossing Beauty Advisor for Estee Lauder in the Southeastern District. At the time of her passing, Michelle was a coveted employee of BGDC Distribution in Forest Park, Georgia.

Michelle loved her beauty routine, dressing immaculately, and socializing. She enjoyed going dancing with friends, and could often be spotted on the dance floor at Rasselas Jazz Club on Fillmore Street in San Francisco.

Michelle is survived by her daughters, Danielle Alyse McCray and De'onna Janette McCray, son, Donovan Marcqui Murray, brother, Marc Evans, Sr., as well as several nieces, nephews, and grandnephews, all of whom live throughout northern California.

On March 29, 2024, Michelle was scattered at sea, joining her father, mother, and brother, David Evans Sr., in the San Francisco Bay. Her Celebration of Life was held on her first heavenly birthday, March 30, 2024, aboard the San Francisco Hornblower.
