Norma L. Marenzi

Loving mother of Don and Gary (Becky) Marenzi; especially adored nonna of Danny, Alessandra and Marco; cherished sister of Lidia (Fred) Loupy; beloved aunt to Damilia, Edward, Stephen, Thomas, Catherine and the late Fred Loupy; and a cherished cousin to many in both Northern California and Italy. Predeceased by her loving husband of 47 years, Ernest "Danny" Marenzi.

Born in San Francisco on Russian Hill, she attended both grade school and high school at St. Brigid's. She was a Past President of the St. Brigid's Mothers' Club and member of the Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory Parents' Club, Italian Catholic Federation, Sons of Italy, Little Children's Aid, Turris Eburnea, Good Shepherd Guild, De Paul Seniors, Madonna Della Guardia Society and many other charitable organizations in the Bay Area.

Norma lived a full and active life. She loved the theatre, opera, symphony and ballet, and frequently attended these events with her family. An accomplished pianist, she accompanied vocalists at St. Brigid's as well as entertaining at rest homes in San Francisco. She connected a new generation of her family to her relatives in Italy and made several trips there in recent years. She spent her final years in Los Angeles to be closer to her grandchildren who were her greatest joy, but she remained faithful to her beloved San Francisco-based charities and to her friends and extended family in Northern California. She was a dynamic organizer and caring friend whose sincerity and love touched everyone who knew her.

Friends are welcome for visitation from 1-8 PM Monday, March 5, with Vigil Service at 7 PM, at HALSTED N. GRAY - CAREW & ENGLISH, 1123 Sutter St., SF. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30AM Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at SS Peter & Paul Church, 666 Filbert St., SF. Entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma, CA.
