Ray was born November 30, 1959 in Washington, New Jersey, son of Harold A. and Mary Karpenko Barber. He is survived by his brother, Jon Barber, and his nieces, Christine Monroe and Melanie Barber together with Christine’s husband, Chad, and Jon’s wife, Sharon and a large extended family.
Ray spent a good part of his life growing up in San Lorenzo, CA, during the 1960s through 1980s. After high school graduation Ray continued his education at San Francisco State University receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. He then moved on to a rewarding career with Roche Molecular Systems and was preparing for his retirement after many years at Thermo Fisher Biotechnology Company just before passing on February 4, 2025 at the age of 66.
He had good neighbors and friends while living in Benicia, CA. Ray will be always thought of as a kind and loving person and will be greatly missed.
