Sam Yam passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. Sam was born in Battambang, Cambodia on March 2, 1951 to Yi Yam and Nga Chavo. Growing up, he enjoyed playing basketball, swimming and riding his moped. In 1981, he immigrated to the US, landing in Holland, Michigan. He worked at S2 Yachts and at Haworth Furniture in Holland, Michigan before retiring in 2009. In 2010, he moved to San Francisco with the rest of his family from Michigan. He spent his remaining years in San Francisco. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother and one sister. He is survived by his wife Margaret; children Phung, Muy and Jane; a brother and two sisters. A memorial service will be held 5/17 at 3pm at The San Francisco Columbarium (1 Loraine Court, SF, CA 94118).
