

Dorothy Gabriella (Von Groidl) Antosy passed away peacefully on April 27, 2013 at the age of 88 in her home in San Marino, California surrounded by family. Born in Budapest, Hungary on October 20, 1924. Dorothy was fluent in five different languages and studied to work in foreign services. Unfortunately, World War II caused her plans to change and Dorothy and her family were forced to escape to Germany in 1945 because of the Russian advancing forces. In 1949, Dorothy met the love of her life a US military employee, Stephen during a Catholic religious service. Dorothy always aspired to be an American citizen, in 1949 she was offered employment in Waynesville, North Carolina. Shortly after her arrival Dorothy and Stephen were married. Their sixty-four years of marriage gave them the opportunity to live abroad in Germany, Japan and Iran. During their overseas residents Dorothy was blessed with three wonderful children. Gabriella (Antosy) Manchester, husband Michael, Leslie (Antosy) Flores, husband Abraham and Stephen Antosy IV, wife Laurie and their three children Alexandra, Kaitlin and Joey. A dedicated bridge player Dorothy received honors in both Japan and United States as a Life Master Life Member Contract Bridge League player. Dorothy's favorite pastime was traveling the world, she visited over 150 countries, sailed on over 100 + cruises and visited six of the seven continents. Dorothy's 88-years of life were full of joy, laughter, adventure but most of all unconditional love for family, friends and all who were blessed to have met her. A celebration of life mass will be held at 10:30 am on June 1, 2013 at Saint Felicitas and Perpetua Catholic Church in San Marino, CA.
