Johnny Love was one of the most friendly, easy-going, and energetic coworkers I met early on in my years in Adventureland. He’s the type of guy who was out to charm the whole world. After he moved on to other jobs, he would still show up to Steam Trains get-togethers, like Oktoberfest with Todd. It was always a joy to see him again—he brought his spark to any party with old friends. He’s going to be really missed by his Disney family, even those of us who worked with him for only a few years and saw him just occasionally!

I learned from Jonathan how important it is to always be connecting with family and friends and letting them know you love them. By consistently showing up for them. He touched hearts. In his own loving way.  At the visitation, many of his friends said Jon did this weekly by calling, visiting, group chats and many other ways. He didn't wait for anyone to call him. His positive, happy, loving, smiling outlook on life inspires me and hundreds of friends and family his life touched. May he live forever in our hearts. May Jon's life be a continued positive influence to everyone who knew him. May his memory be a blessing.

We are heartbroken about Jon’s passing. He was truly an amazing person, inside and out, and such a meaningful friend to my husband and me.
During one of the hardest times in our lives, while we were navigating a rough patch and our dog’s cancer diagnosis, Jon never stopped showing up for us. He checked in often, made us feel less alone, and even went out of his way to send our pup a thoughtful gift basket, all while quietly carrying his own burdens. That’s just who he was: selfless, kind, and full of care for others.
Jon was always thoughtful and respectful—a true gentleman in every sense of the word. The way he treated people spoke volumes, and it’s clear he was raised with so much love and strong values. His parents truly did an incredible job raising such an amazing man.
We will always remember how he brought people together, whether it was inviting us out to eat or planning a trip. He created moments that mattered, and we are so grateful for every one of them.
We only wish we had more time to tell him how much we appreciated and loved him. He meant so much to us, and he always will.
Our hearts are with the Amores family and Taylor, and we’re holding onto the love and memories he gave so freely.

We are so incredibly sorry for your loss. Jon was the best friend a person could possibly have. He was always there to hold our friend group together as we progressed through life. Jon’s energy and passion for life was something I always felt and appreciated. He was so gracious and generous to us and all of the people around him, whether is was going out of his way to get us into Disneyland or hosting our friends holiday parties. I will never forget our time together and will miss him very much.

My memories of Jon were of the 4 of us: Me, My Brother, Jon and Joanna running around in their backyard, hide and seek in our house, dinners with our families, and countless birthdays and Christmas’s while growing up. My brother and I didn’t have family close in age to us, but we had Jon and Joanna. 

Our dear Jon, your smile is just as the young Jon I remember. It’s been beautiful learning more about you and how you’ve been able to share that smile with so many different people and stages in your life. I still remember our first Britney Spears concert, walking through the crowds and you looking at everything with so much awe and excitement. I remember you having the biggest crush on our waitress at the Jeepney Grill and how we would always look for her when we’d go back. I remember your loud and contagious laugh, the look on your face when you’d get in trouble, and more importantly, the special brother sister bond you’ve had with Joanna.
I’ve stayed close to my mom following your journey and I pray you are peace. You were taken from us too soon but have left a positive imprint on our lives even with so little time. That is a testament to your mom, dad and sister, and the home and memories that were built for you. 
We pray for strength and healing for the family and know that Jon’s memory will continue to live on with us.

Jon was an amazing friend never judgmental always making everyone smile and laugh working at Disney together were some of the happiest memories of my life. Rest in peace my friend you will be missed

Jon came into our family through Taylor, our niece, and from the very beginning he opened his arms to us. He became family almost instantly—our nephew in every way that mattered. Jon greeted everyone with that unforgettable smile, the kind that made you feel welcomed and seen. 
 
We will never forget the way Jon always took mom's (Grandma) for dance, or how, at my son’s wedding in Sonoma, guests kept asking, 'Who is that guy leading the group dance?' That was Jon—lifting the whole room with his spirit. Everyone loved him that night, just as everyone loved him at every 4th of July BBQs, holidays, and birthdays with our family. 
 
Jon, you’ve left us with a lasting lesson in how to love deeply, laugh freely, eat joyfully, and dance without hesitation. Thank you for loving so hard.  The Formato/Uribe families and all of our cousins love you and will miss you dearly. We know you will be watching over your loved ones and friends,

Dear Jon:
Truly you are going to be missed!  A very nice young man who was taken from us at 36. He was just starting a promising  future and together with Taylor a dream of a successful family life.
Jon always sent me greetings on my birthdays, holidays and also invitations to lunches or dinners. He was very thoughtful and generous. I admired him for his love for family, friends and of course Koda, his loyal dog which showed Jon its love for him in return. 
Jon’s fine character traits surely came from his parents, Chito and Oya, a couple who did not tire caring and loving him no matter the outcome of Jon’s health condition may become.
Now that only memories of Jon is left, I am still grateful to have shared my few life experiences with him. 
He knows I loved him dearly and will forever remember him the kind of man I wished for a son I could have had.

Dear Oya, Chito and Joanna, 

It’s so heartbreaking and really very sorry to hear about the passing of Jon. Our  sincerest condolences. May the good Lord give you comfort in this difficult time of grief and sorrow🙏🙏🙏 Praying for you and for sure Jon is now in heaven with Tia Nitang and Tio Vito. ❤️❤️❤️ That’s the consolation we have knowing he is at peace with them in heaven with our Almighty. 

Memories of Jon even though few will forever be etched in my heart especially when we saw him at this Japanese restaurant here in Cerritos and he was working there. Junior and I were so happy to see him.  He treated us so well with his big smile and his pleasant personality. He had such big dreams.  He gave us a discount on our bill and gave me dessert for free since it was my birthday. We would have loved to share the pictures we took but Junior can’t find them right now. Hopefully he will be able to dig them out. God bless you and give peace in your heart as time goes by. 🙏❤️

Looking through all the photos and memories from everyone who knew and grew up with Jon makes me wish I had known him on a more personal level and not mostly a co-worker level. 
I did get the pleasure of doing a little partying with him and meeting Taylor during my work visits from Louisiana.
One comment made regarding his Smile, for the most part, it was pretty much always there.
He will definitely be missed by many.

I truly believe a person’s life doesn’t have to be long to be full. Even when we were young adults, Jon lived like someone whose life was so fulfilled. That must be because he comes from a loving family. Knowing Jon meant knowing his sister, his mom, his dad. They were an extension of him.
So many of my memories with Jon are in his family home. When I spoke to his sister, she mentioned the garage rehearsals we used to have. He was the mastermind behind those! The Amores home was our hub for rehearsals, dinners, and of course, parties. It was easy to gather there because it felt safe.
Now that I am a parent, those memories push me to create that same kind of space for my kids and their future friends. Thank you Amores family for welcoming all of us so openly. My deepest condolences for your unimaginable loss.
Jon’s life only grew fuller when he met Taylor. “We need to catch up soon and for you to meet Taylor! Haha,” he once messaged me. Even though we had not seen each other in a while, he still wanted me to meet the person he loved. I was honored, but a little nervous, not knowing what to expect. But Taylor, you were so bubbly and genuine. You hugged me right away and told me how excited you were to meet someone from Jon’s dance days. I instantly liked you. I even told Jon he finally got his Taylor (Swift).
Taylor, I know the past few years have not been easy. I am so deeply sorry. The life you envisioned together took an unexpected turn, and I cannot begin to imagine what you have been through. My heart is with you.

There are no words that can truly comfort a loss like this. I'm am so sorry. Jon’s life was way too short, but it was undeniably full.

Jon, you weren’t the life of the party, you WERE the party. From crazy Vegas nights to just hanging in your room talking about our girl/boy problems listening to skrillex, you made wherever you were the place to be. I’m so thankful for the time we had together, your kindness, your humor, your energy, everything.

I’m so happy Disney brought us together. You were the brightest light out on Main Street and forever an honorary Circle D member. So many memories with you at work, making the days feel more like a hangout instead of actual work.

One of my favorite Vegas trips with you! This night was so fun, from club to club, to randomly seeing Avicii and paying way too much for shots out of test tubes (oh the early 2010s were wild), to secret pizza, and wandering the strip in 40 degree weather, you would strike up and conversation with anyone passing by and instantly be their friend. You were just that magical.

Jon and I met through dance at 19, and we became oddly inseparable. He was the first to push his love for Taylor Swift and country music onto me, and I was always trying to convert him to emo to balance out his endlessly happy vibe. I wanted to talk about life, justice, and social issues, and he would avoid the heavy topics and suggest going snowboarding instead, haha. He always said it wasn’t worth worrying about. “Let’s talk about it later,” or “c’mon, let’s have fun… it’ll make you feel better.”

We had a complex friendship because I always felt like he was too carefree, and he felt like I cared too much. But somehow, he always made me laugh, even when I was upset at the world.

Through the years, we still tried to show up for each other during milestones and heartbreaks. From being inseparable to annual reunions, we comforted each other the same way we always did at 19… through food, belly laughs, “we’ll talk about that later,” and probably never did.

Jon and I were so different, but one thing my friend taught me is that at the end of the day, life doesn’t always have to be so heavy. Sometimes it’s okay to let go, be present, and just choose joy.

I just didn’t think I’d have to learn that lesson without you here. I’ll carry you with me. In the laughter, in the lightness, in all the moments I try not to take life so seriously.

Thank you for being my friend. I’ll miss you forever.

It was always a pleasure blasting softball, basketball, and fantasy football with Jon. We would call him Jon the Jogger when he casually rounded the bases. He would also bring us donuts

Collabor8 Dance Company would like to send our condolences to the family of Jon. Especially his sister Joanna. They were both on C8.  Absolutely super stars! He was so much fun to dance with and was such a great performer and dancer. So many great memories of him were made in the years he was on our dance family. He will be missed.

Jon was an energetic and talented performer! He gave it his all every time. This guy even performed with a broken hand! What?! He loved being on stage.

Late night rehearsals and performances, Jon was always there. Happy to be surrounded by his C8 Fam Bam.

Goofy’s Kitchen and Disney were our top places to have a great time.

Jon was the life of the party at all of our gatherings. If it was a themed event, he had no problem dressing up for the occasion!

Traveling with Jon was so much fun. I remember him getting back to the hotel at 7am because he said he left early to catch the Good Morning America show live in Times Square, NYC. He was determined to experience it before we left back to L.A.

Jonathan was beautiful.   He was light.   He was life.  One of the most steady, kind hearted, good willed gentlemen I've had the pleasure of being in my life.  Though I only knew him through my softball team, I felt truly blessed to know him.  His energy was able to lighten up any space he was around, and he was never without a smile.  Not to mention, he was a great hitter.  :)  RIP Jon.  You will be greatly missed

Looking through old photos of Jon is bringing back so many memories. But even though I have all these images right in front of me, my mind keeps replaying moments I can’t pull up on a screen, and I really wish I could.

I wish I could replay all the memories we shared in Jon’s garage, whether it was rehearsing his random choreography or just goofing around. Or that one time he basically forced me to play rage cage with his friends to the point I passed out on the couch. I used to say I wasn’t easily influenced, but for some reason Jon always knew how to get me there. I think it’s because he was just so naturally passionate and charismatic. He would get an idea in his head and that was it, that was the plan and we were all in. I wonder if everyone else got to see that side of him.

I wish I could also replay that time we went to a pho spot in San Francisco and Jon tried to take on 7 lbs of meat, 7 lbs of noodles, and all the broth. He really thought he had a shot. I had zero faith and sure enough, he tapped out early and the bowl barely looked touched.

There are so many memories I wish I could replay. The dinners at his house with sinigang, Vegas nights that went completely off the rails, house shopping together, and the day we closed on his and Taylor’s home. We were so excited and distracted so all I have are random photos of plants that I took before he arrived. We were even supposed to film a dance video that never happened.

As much as I wish I could relive those moments, I’m grateful we don’t have everything documented. Because it means we were fully living in the moment.

What hurts the most are the memories we’ll never get to make. The get together we planned for October that never happened, his and Taylor’s wedding, more time with my kids, meeting his future kids, and growing into this stage of life together.

As grateful as I am for what we had, it’s what we won’t get that I’ll grieve the most.

I wish we had more time.
