Marilyn lived a long life devoted to her family and career. She enjoyed a lifelong career in banking and finance, culminating in her work as a corporate loan officer for Wells Fargo Bank (formerly First Interstate Bank and United California Bank). While employed at the bank she had the distinctive honor of working at the Olympic village branch of First Interstate Bank at the 1984 Olympics. Shortly after retiring from the bank she returned to work as a book keeper for P&J Trailer Repair. Her love for knitting and crocheting did not override her love of finance work.
Marilyn kept active in retirement. Teaching knitting and crochet to ladies at a retirement center was a highlight for her. Cruising through the Panama Canal with all her siblings was life-long memory. Never to leave her knitting aside, she enjoyed her final cruise to Hawaii with her sisters; and of course it was a knitting cruise!
Marilyn was the oldest of seven children. She is survived by her son, Thomas Roberts (Laurie); sisters Mary Louise Olivarez, Patricia Bowers (Robert) and Catherine McKee (David); sister-in-law Marjorie Roberts, former sister-in-law Margaret Provincher, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Bernice Roberts, two brothers Al Roberts and Joe Roberts, sister Diane Tennis, and brothers-in-law Bill Tennis and John Olivarez.
Arrangements under the direction of Pierce Brothers Turner & Stevens Mortuary, San Gabriel, CA.
