April 26, 1923 – May 23, 2012
Born in Bakersfield California, our beloved mother and grandmother passed away at Foothill Presbyterian Hospital in Glendora Wednesday evening. Her husband Francis Allan De Vine and grandson Joseph “little Joe” De Vine preceded her to death. She is survived by sons Jon Gary and Robert Hampton, daughter-in-laws Ginger and Debbie, brother Chuck Mc Millen, sister-in-law Nadine, grandson Robert Hampton II and his wife Sesame, granddaughter Gaynell De Vine Wall and her husband Greg, and granddaughter Tylene Marie. She was proud of her darling five great grandchildren: Lauren, Amanda, Kendall, Ellary and Rocket. She raised two sons while working as a beautician in South Pasadena before marrying a fellow racing enthusiast. They opened Fadco, a screw machine shop, in 1960 and even after Al died in 1985, she never retired, keeping the title of president until her death. She was a huge NASCAR and Santa Anita race fan. She loved traveling to her desert home at the Salton Sea, visiting Las Vegas and spending time with family. She was infamous for her sparkly gold shoes and fingernails. Always grateful, sharing kind words to strangers, her optimistic attitude allowed her to make friends wherever she went. She was the “life of a party” and the motto “I can sleep when I die” taught everyone around her to live the best possible day. She will be greatly missed by family, friends and all who knew her. A memorial service will to celebrate her life will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Pierce Brothers Turner & Stevens, 1136 East Las Tunas Drive, San Gabriel, Ca 91776.
