Cornelia, or Nelly, or Mami or Oma, was a joyous spirit in every way. When in her presence, she filled our lives with warmth through her hospitality, music, painting and humor. Earlier in life, she married the love of her life and raised four beautiful children in Mexico City, always enjoying a full house over the holidays with food, music and tradition. Later in life, after marrying her sweet companion George and moving to California, she quickly built a new community of friends from the San Felicitas and San Gabriel parishes, the Italian Catholic Federation, the German Choir and her painting classes. As her children married, Nelly bestowed love on new family members, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, hosting gatherings in her home, cooking, gardening, painting and playing the guitar. Nelly was the star of the show and a loving friend to all. May her spirit live on through each one of us.
