Ralph Lester Warner was born on May 25, 1940, to Altha May and Ralph Warner. He lived in California his whole life, but dearly loved travelling. From a very young age, he would move from Southern California to Oregon and back. He enjoyed summers in Oregon with his cousin, Charles and later visiting with his eldest sister, Esther and her family. His sister Margaret, or Maggie, was a favorite from birth. She adored her baby brother, and he loved the extra attention. They spent many years visiting and living with each other and their families. Uncle Pete has always been a fan favorite and when he married Janice in 1962, her siblings and their children also got to love and know Uncle Pete. He had a close relationship with Jim Bright, especially. Jim was always considered a best friend to Pete. His daughter, Christine, and her children, Sean, Megan, Trevor, were fortunate to have lived with Papa in the last years and truly benefited from the love and advice he so freely gave. His son, Wayne, and he shared a love of golf and Pete was glad to have had that time with him. In their early years, Wayne’s girls, Elizabeth, Sara, and Julia were also able to spend quality time with Papa. Pete had a love of games and laughter. There are not many who haven’t had a chance to sit down and play Gin, Pinochle, Dominoes, Cribbage, or Rummy Tiles (the list could go on for a while!) with him. He was a firm believer in being able to laugh at yourself and knew that while winning is all well and good, the fun in the game is in the company you are keeping, and the memories being made. He lived his life with that same belief. He touched so many lives, loved so many, and will be missed terribly.
