William B. Burge

April 9, 1922 – September 27, 2013

William B. Burge, 91, of San Marino, CA, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by family, on September 27, 2013. Bill grew up in Texas and served as a pilot in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He graduated from the University of Texas Law School and worked for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office from 1955 to his retirement in 1983. Bill is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty, and his children Jim Burge (Julie) of Montecito, CA, Jeri Wright (Tim) of San Marino, CA, and Steve Burge (Laura) of San Marino, CA and 10 grandchildren – Briton Burge (Ana) of Chapel Hill, NC, James Burge (Megan) of Santa Barbara, CA, Andrew Burge of San Francisco, CA, Geoff Wright of San Marino, CA, William Burge of Barcelona, Spain, David Burge of Santa Barbara, CA, Henry Burge (Harper) of Valencia, CA, Libby Wright of San Marino, CA, Diana Burge of Charleston, SC, and Steven Wright of San Marino, CA and 5 great grandchildren. The viewing will be held at Pierce Brothers Mortuary at 1136 E. Las Tunas, San Gabriel, CA from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Monday, September 30, and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 1 at 1:00 p.m. at San Marino Community Church, 1750 Virginia Rd., San Marino, CA.
