Alessandra Alaine Barlas, 27, of San Jose passed into the arms of her loving Savior Jesus Christ on Monday October 26, 2015. She was born on March 23, 1988. She couldn’t wait to come into the world and was kicking around in her momma’s womb to let her know it was time for the world to meet this magnificent and beautiful soul. She was born full of wonder, full of joy, full of love and full of life. The fullness that she exhibited before and after her birth never ceased while on this earth. She loved deeply. She cared for the welfare of those around her, whether she knew them or not.
She survived a horrific car accident in 2007, by God’s loving grace. The accident changed her life, it changed how she lived her life; it changed the lives of those around her. The miracles brought forth by the God in whose bosom she now rests were many and touched many at the time and continue to testify to God’s kindness, love and mercy. She was not finished with what she was so anxious to do when she kicked hard in her Mother’s womb before she was born. Alessandra epitomizes the phrase “Big things come in small packages.”
Alessandra graduated from Cupertino High School in 2006. She went on to San Jose State where she graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising. She worked in the helter skelter world of advertising for 3 years – working in San Francisco for Skona Advertising and Wikia. In 2013, the passion that was born into her to help people in need was realized. That passion was to become a Nurse. She went after that goal with an intense focus. On October 20, 2015 she received her acceptance to the Nursing Program at Samuel Merritt Nursing School. A dream fulfilled. She was a warrior for justice and mercy. She exhibited that in her efforts through the years by volunteering. She was a volunteer at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose in the Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Unit – where she received care following her accident and was a Health Ambassador at the Second Harvest Food Bank in San Jose in recent years. She was a much beloved team member at Magianno’s Little Italy in San Jose as well as Gordon Biersch in San Jose. Her passion included her two sports teams – The Oakland Raiders and Golden State Warriors. She was a season ticket holder for the Raiders for the past 3 seasons.
Alessandra loved justice and was just; she was mercy and she learned how to walk humbly with her God. She has always been our precious princess. She now wears a crown of Glory. It shines brightly and eternally.
She is survived by her Mother DiAnn Beatty and her step-Father Rick Beatty of San Jose; Father, Glen Barlas and step mother Deborah Barlas of El Dorado Hills; Brothers Aaron Barlas of Camus, Washington; SSgt William Beatty USAF, and his wife Katie Beatty of Olivehurst, CA; STS1 (SS) Wyatt Beatty USN, his wife Caitlin Beatty of Niantic, CT; sisters, Blair Beatty of San Jose, Jennifer Dale and her husband, Joshua Dale of El Dorado Hills; her much beloved nieces Sophia Dale; Chloe Dale; Melia Kolander; Nevaeh Barlas, Melody Barlas and Khloe Beatty
