

Amalia Lovato Gonzales was born March 30, 1916 in San Antonio, New Mexico to Merced and Ignacita S. Lovato. She passed away in her home in San Jose, CA, on Thursday, July 20, 2017. She was 101 years old. Mom is predeceased in death by her loving husband, Enrique (Henry) Gonzales, her daughter, Lorraine Nunez, her son, Malaquias (Mel) Gonzales, her 4 grandchildren, Anita Nunez, Nick and Anthony Gonzales and Steven Gonzales. Mother is lovingly survived by her surviving children which are as follows:

Mom was a great cook and a gracious person. She was warm and always made people feel very comfortable in her home. People felt at home with her as she was very hospitable. My brothers and sisters and I will be eternally grateful to her for giving us life, taking great care of us and loving us to the best of her ability. We would like to extend our gratitude and thanks to the following persons who helped Mom and Jim. These people were invaluable and gave their love and help to Grandma Molly and Jimmy without any hesitation. A big Thank you from our family. A big thank you to our family for your contribution of food, rides to the store, and just being united when it was needed. Mom will be laid to rest next to her loving husband (Henry) of 77 years. Her services will be held at Oakhill Memorial Funeral Home in San Jose, CA Tuesday, August 1st: visitation in room E chapel from 4 pm to 7 pm. Rosary in the Chapel of Oaks at 7 pm Wednesday, August 2nd: The service will be in the same chapel at 10:00 a.m. and burial to follow at 11:00 a.m.
