On April 2, 2017, Anthony Brazil lost his battle to cancer at the age of 54. He was born on November 9th 1962 in San Jose, CA to Natalia and Carmo Brazil. He was one of eight children who were raised learning the importance of hard work. As he shared stories of his childhood, he talked about splitting apricots with his siblings and how much he embraced the time he spent helping his dad build the extensions to the house he grew up in. He knew things were tough but tried to help the best he could and valued all the things he learned from his dad.
After graduating from San Jose high school in 1981, he experienced many different professions from bussing tables to elevator repair, structural foundation work, and later moving on to maintenance. He took pride in fixing, building and polishing things with his own hands. For fun, he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, camping and spending time with his family.
Anthony was a great father to three children, Adrian, Lizette and Andrew, who he taught so many lifelong skills to. He was a man with a kind heart and a gentle soul. Friends and neighbors enjoyed his welcoming personality. He was always willing to give even when he didn't even have much for himself. He was extremely knowledgeable in so many areas and he was always ready to teach people what he knew. People often criticized him for being stubborn but he was really a man who knew what he wanted and stood for what he believed. Altogether, he was a man of honor and dignity who was greatly admired for being able to love all of his family unconditionally.
