ANTHONY CORONA’S OBITUARY Anthony Nava Corona, passed away on December 23, 2024, at 6:27 AM, while surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Angelina Nava Corona, his father, Ignacio Corona, and his stepmother, Alicia Reyes. Anthony was married to the love of his life, Paula Ortiz Corona, for 53 years. Together, they lovingly raised their family of four children: Raul Corona of San José, CA; Toni "Beckie" Corona (Art Dávalos) of San José; Yvette Robello (Rick Robello, Sr.) of Manteca, CA; and Irene Corona-King of San José, as well as 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Anthony was born in San José, on February 7, 1956. Always proud of his culture, he was Mexican and Yaqui on his Corona side, and on his Nava side, he was Mexican and Huichol. Anthony had 6 sisters and 4 brothers, several nieces, nephews, cousins and Godchildren. He dearly loved them all. Family meant everything to the Corona Patriarch! He enjoyed calling his relatives just to check in. Anthony had the best sense of humor and loved telling tall tales, that would have you questioning if he was telling the truth! Of course, he never was! So, you would share a good laugh, because once again, "He got you!” Anthony was a mechanic for most of his life. He would spend hours outdoors fixing the cars and trucks of his friends and relatives! If you needed him, he would be there to help you out! He worked as a skillful expeditor for 15 years, all over the SF Bay Area. Because he was a friendly and popular man, Anthony would often come home after a long day’s work with a list of people he had run into. He knew everyone! Anthony later earned his Class A License, the highest level of commercial driver’s license, and he enjoyed driving from state to state and seeing new places. He even made it to Elvis’ Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee, where he signed the wall. He happily checked this off his bucket list. Anthony retired while working for a car lot in San Jose, after being a successful car salesman for 10 years. After working all his life, he could now devote more time to Paula, their family, his hobbies, gardening and watching “The Price Is Right” on TV. Anthony collected classic cars, Fedoras, and anything Elvis. He loved Bingo, and would always say, "We're going to Denny’s when we win!” He loved visits from his son and daughters, and especially loved visits from his grandbabies. “Papa” had a special bond and nickname for each one of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He made each one of them feel that they were his favorite. They all were! Nothing will ever be the same without Anthony, our Family Patriarch! We will forever miss him. He will live forever in our hearts, in our memories, and on the faces of the beautiful family he created with his beloved Paula. We will always remember his favorite saying, “I am a full-blooded Yaqui!”
