On Friday, January 14, 2023, Antonino “Tony” La Rosa, a beloved father, grandfather and friend passed away. He was seventy-eight. Born to Rose and Giacomo La Rosa, Tony immigrated to San Jose, California from Trabia, Sicily Italy in 1956 with his parents, brothers, and sister.
Always working to support the family, Tony finished school and while working for his future father in-law at California Cheese Factory, met the love of his life, Antoinette Infantino. Tony and Antoinette were married for 37 years until Antoinette’s passing. They had three children, Tony, Michele, Joey, and grandchildren Nicolas and Isabella. His biggest love was his grandchildren and he always showed his support by wearing hats and shirts for their respective universities, Indiana Hoosiers and Oregon Ducks.
Tony loved being with his friends. Throughout his adult life, he had a ritual of meeting up with his friends for coffee. He was a fixture at Cindy’s, Jimmy’s and Fresh Donuts (“The Donut Shop”) over the years and established lifelong friendships. When he wasn’t with his friends, Tony’s passion was in Real Estate and learning all the trades. He had a thirst for learning electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and anything else he could learn. He always worked on his own rental properties and was a mentor to anyone who wanted to learn. Tony’s mind was sharp and he took risks to achieve his goals to support his family.
