Born in Nicaragua, Argentina immigrated to the United States in 1959 in search of a better future for her family. She built a beautiful life rooted in hard work, faith, and family. In 1964, she married her beloved husband, Ismael Guerrero, in San Francisco. They shared many years together until his passing in 1979. Through perseverance and dedication, she became a United States citizen in 1996.
Argentina dedicated over 50 years of her life as a skilled seamstress, working for ABC Draperies in San Francisco. Her work reflected not only her talent, but also her pride, discipline, and attention to detail.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Juan Manuel Guerrero (Tamela), and Lucilita Guerrero Chiala (Vito). Her cherished grandchildren: Siena Luz Chiala, Isabella Rea Guerrero, Nicholas Thomas Guerrero, and Gianna Reese Guerrero. She was preceded in death by her mother Lucila Alvarez Matus; her husband Ismael Guerrero and is survived by her brother Arnulfo Alvarez (Mercedes) and sisters, Iris Gregoire (David) and Ondina Alvarez Matus.
Argentina found joy in life’s simplicity. She loved cooking for those she cared about; she was known for her delicious enchiladas, gallo pinto and nacatamales. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing bingo, listening to good music, and expressing herself through fashion. She was smart, funny, and always carried herself with elegance and style.
She had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for her many “dichos” and witty comebacks. She brought warmth, laughter, and joy to everyone around her. She was always willing to lend a listening ear, offer thoughtful advice, and support anyone in need.
A woman of deep faith, Argentina was a devoted Catholic who loved fiercely and held strong values. She expected sincerity and integrity from her children and grandchildren, leading by example through her own life.
Her generosity knew no bounds. She opened her home and heart to many family members and friends who came to this country, offering them warm meals, comfort, and a place to stay as they began building new lives in the United States.
Argentina’s love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family will never be forgotten. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she nurtured.
May she rest in everlasting peace.
