Bruno D. Filice, 94 years, of San Jose, CA passed away on August 1, 2024. Bruno graduated from Bellarmine College Preparatory and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Santa Clara University. He was married to Loretta Di Salvo on June 28, 1952. They were married for 68 years until her death in November 2020.
As a young professional he worked at the family winery (San Martin Winery) for many years. But his intelligence and business acumen led him on to greater and bigger things. From a Santa Cruz beer distributorship, to a Watsonville travel agency, to assisting in the development of Eagle Ridge golf course and the surrounding area. Bruno’s accomplishments are wide and varied. There was no challenge that he couldn’t meet.
He was an avid golfer, golfing weekly with his sons until age 94. He was a member of the Watsonville Rotary Club, San Jose Elks Club, San Jose Civic Club and the San Jose Calabrese Club. He loved travel, reading Grisham novels and making biscotti.
But at the end of it all, the one thing that he was most proud of, and that he’d want known about him, was his commitment to family. There was no better husband, kinder brother, gentler father, impactful grandfather, generous uncle or good friend, than Bruno Filice.
He is survived by his children, Toniann Schultz (Eugene), Marc Filice (Marijane), Bruno Filice (Becki), Mary Filice (Reushan), grandchildren, Benjamin Owens-Filice (Carla), Micah Filice, Matthan Filice, Daniel Shaw (Megan), Rosie Shaw, Dominic Filice, Gabriana Filice, great-grandchildren, Sofia Filice, Chloe Cohen, Emily Filice, Oliver Shaw, Noah Shaw, Truth Filice, Milo Shaw, Lily Shaw, Quinn Shaw, Phillip Shaw. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Terri Filice, beloved nieces, nephews, wonderful friends and special recognition to his loving caregiver, Doris Serna.
