Carlos was born on March 21, 1942, in Eagle Pass, Texas, to Carlos and Magdalena Velasquez, Sr. A proud U.S. Army veteran, he served as a Military Policeman from 1964 to 1966. He went on to become a self-made entrepreneur and long-time property owner and manager, dedicating his life’s work to supporting the community in downtown San José through housing and small business rentals.
Carlos is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alberta (“Berdie”); their children, Anita, Dan (Doris), and Sandra; and three grandchildren, Damien, Dillon, and Alexia. He is also survived by his brother Gabriel, and sisters Maria Refugio, Julia, and Rosa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos Miguel, Sr. and Maria Magdalena; brothers, Manuel and Francisco; and sisters, Maria Socorro, Maria Teresita, Maria Magdalena, Maria Cruz, and Maria Consuelo.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 13th at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 219 Bean Avenue, Los Gatos, CA. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln St, Santa Clara, CA.
