I have lived on the same street as Carolyn for 48 years! Have always enjoyed her wit, intelligence, frankness, and more! She will truly be missed...much love and sympathy to Lisa and Brian...may their wonderful memories of her be a source of strength to them..

Carolyn and I attended All Hallows School together.  Even as a young girl, Carolyn was a high achiever who inspired others to give their best as well.  Thanks to the generous nuns who nourished and taught us, we went on to become young women who were unafraid to develop our full potentials, understanding that it was our responsibility to share what was given to us by giving back to  others.  Thanks you, Carolyn, for a life well lived!





I worked with Carolyn at the tutoring center for many years. I absolutely loved her. She was like a second mom to me. She was so much fun to talk to, we always made each other laugh, and she gave me great advice. I saw her at Whole Foods just a few months ago and cried immediately upon seeing her because I was so happy to see her. She will be greatly missed.

Dear Carolyn,
On Sunday morning, October 26, we met you for breakfast. It was our typical get together, and we talked and talked, as usual. We shared what was happening with our families, our struggles with Covid and how some people were getting vaccinated and some weren’t. We were all being cautious even though we’d been vaccinated. Of course we discussed politics and some of the “stoogie” things in the news. You ordered French toast and took some home. We were hoping to get together again at our homes like we used to. Time was on our side.

You had so many talents: a wonderful wife and mother and grandmother; a fantastic cook; a dedicated teacher, and an amazing friend. You were genuine and thoughtful, interested and caring, and we will miss you forever. The times our families shared together, our kids’ having fun, always having fun. 

Our forty-plus year friendship will last forever, but for now our indelible memories will have to do.

Rest peacefully, and may your memory be a blessing.

Carolyn was such an amazing mother and grandmother! Our shared grandchildren will sorely miss the delicious meals, card games, New Years Eve sleepovers and all the other traditions that Carolyn introduced them to.  No one can hold a candle to her creativity, generosity and love that she shared with everyone.  

I met Carolyn in 1973 and she welcomed me into the family in 1974. In those early years we saw each other often as we lived in close proximity. When Jerry and I moved to Oregon, we saw each other less but kept in touch by snail mail and telephone ( sometimes an hour or more!) and too infrequent trips to California. 

Carolyn was intelligent and enjoyed thought provoking conversations.  Her work was very important to her and she struggled re-entering teaching after a decade as a stay at home mom.  Her nuclear family was her first priority and her care and concern encompassed Jerry and I as well.  More recently, we discussed the joys and challenges of “parenting” adult children.

I envied Carolyn’s culinary skills and her attention to detail in her cooking. She saved every little leftover and actually managed to use them! Her patience was evident in her efforts to teach me how to make pastizi. Her pastizi rivaled those served in Malta. Her “quick bird” was our Thanksgiving joke. 

 Carolyn was a creative and talented artist. This was apparent in her beautiful paintings, home decorating, festive holiday table settings, and even the wrappings of the tiniest package. 

 The pandemic affected Carolyn’s student numbers and they began to dwindle. Just a few weeks before her death, she discussed redirecting her time into some meaningful volunteer work. 

She died too soon and will be missed. May she be greeted by Bob and Carm whose absence in her life was a lifetime sorrow. Goodbye Carolyn, may you Rest In Peace. 

I will remember Carolyn when we worked together many years ago at Knowledge Quest. She was always joyful with her sunshine eyes.  I’ll remember her sassy humor with her winks and open mouth laugh, as if she shared a funny secret with you. I’ll miss her!
