Daniel B. Healy passed away after fighting multiple illnesses. He touched the lives of people on both sides of the US.
Born in The Bronx to Timothy and Anna Healy, Dan grew up and went to school in Flushing, NY. A graduate of Archbishop Molloy HS, he attended college in NY & joined the Army, extending his army time to go to Viet Nam where he earned a Bronze Star for meritorious achievement. After the army, Dan came to SJ in 1968 to attend college under the GI bill where he met & married Mary Ann, and settled down. For over 20 years, he was owner/ operator of 2 Round Table Pizza Restaurants.
Dan enjoyed sports, following teams from NY and the Bay Area, was an avid reader, a history buff, a card player, and a lover of good food. He was a 20 year "Friend of Bill W."
Predeceased by his parents; sister Joan P. Ahern; & brother John R. Healy, Dan is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann; brother and sister-in-law Ted & Joan Shugar; 5 nieces & nephews, 10 great-nieces & nephews in NY; many in-laws in California; and countless friends on both coasts. He will be deeply missed.
Services for Dan will be on both coasts, beginning with a visitation Wed., May 2nd from 5 PM and rosary at 7 at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow St., SJ. Dan will be cremated and placed in NY where services will be held. A final memorial mass will be at 9:30, Wed., May 30th at St. Christopher's Church, 2278 Booksin Ave. Friends & family are invited to attend.
