Dan was an engineer at his core even when he didn't recognize it in himself. He deeply enjoyed problem solving and was ever the student with a plethora of interests.
Being the eldest of the Moyer siblings and the son of a USAF officer, he lived in several states and countries including; New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maryland, Nebraska, Newfoundland and Casablanca, Morocco and finally settling in California. The Moyer family had many opportunities to travel as a family inside and outside the US.
For his collegiate studies the focus was on Electrical Engineering and ROTC at San Jose State. Musically Dan played the accordion and was an early adopter of the synthesizer. For listening he primarily enjoyed a variety of classical composers and Enya. Scientifically Dan loved to learn about the brain, he continued his personal studies in Anthropology, Biology, Neurology, Philosophy, and Psychology, to get a better grasp on how the mind functions.
For work Dan excelled with the dawn of the Personal Computer, working for Intel debugging and testing Integrated Circuits and RAM chips, as well as monitoring O2 levels at the Falstaff Brewery.
The outdoors was another passion of Dan's, from climbing rock faces to the hikes out to them, Dan was at peace in the forests and mountains. His crowning achievement in rock climbing was scaling Half Dome.
Dan's favorite quote was "From the brain and the brain alone arise our pleasures, joys, laughter and jests, as well as our sorrows, pains and griefs" - Hippocrates
